PROJECT WORK/INTERNSHIP
• A six month long term training from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh from June to November 2007 under the Guidance of Dr. Vijay Chintaman Sonawane (Scientist, BERPDC,IMTECH, Chandigarh.) on the topic “Studies on Degradation of Triphenyl methane and Azo Dyes by the ligninolytic fungus Curvularia pallescens.”
• One month training at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi, Department of Microbiology, Laboratory Services, under the supervision of Dr.Raman Sardana (H.O.D Laboratory Services, Department of microbiology, Apollo Hospital)
• One month training at Hai Medicare and Research Institute Pvt Ltd.Patna, on Microbiology and Biochemistry including all routine pathological work, under the supervision of Dr.Shafi Ahmad (Head Laboratory Services).
SKILLS
• Worked on most of the Microbiological and Biotech laboratory instruments, know all the basic microbiological techniques from the isolation to the characterization of bacteria and fungi.
• Have performed quality test for water quality analysis including test of its physico chemical properties to the performance of BOD, COD and DO.
• Worked on most of the recent molecular biology techniques including transformation, DNA RNA and Plasmid Isolation, cloning, sequencing, PCR etc.
• Worked with most of the basic techniques like Electrophoresis, Blotting techniques, chromatography including thin layer and HPLC, Spectrophotometer etc.
• Handled HPLC for determination of aromatic intermediates during the process of microbe mediated dye degradation, also worked with UV transilluminators for the determination of aromatic compounds after performing their TLCs.
• Have practical knowledge of determination of enzyme activities, know the downstream and upstream processing of fermentation technology in context to enzyme production.
• Have practical knowledge of most of the pathological tests including and have performed them both manually and with the help of Semi and Autoanalysers.
• Operated instruments like Bactec 9050, Vitek, Coulter, Mini API etc.
• Have given seminars on Cytokines, Biosensors, and Microbial Rennets etc.
